ZipClips
Acceptable Use Policy
Effective Date: April 26, 2026
Zero Tolerance
ZipClips has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Content that violates this policy will be removed and the responsible account ejected from the service. We act on reports within 24 hours.
ZipClips is built for families and close friends to share photos, videos, and voice notes in private Groups. To keep it a safe, welcoming place, everyone who uses ZipClips agrees to follow this policy. If you violate it, we may remove content, suspend or terminate your account, and — where required by law — report you to the appropriate authorities.
What's Not Allowed
You may not upload, record, send, or share:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Zero tolerance. We report CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate fully with law enforcement.
- Nudity or sexual content of any kind, including implied or suggestive content.
- Images or videos of minors unless you are their parent or legal guardian, or have the guardian's consent.
- Graphic violence, gore, or content that glorifies self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, or harm to others.
- Hate speech or harassment — content that attacks, threatens, or dehumanizes people based on race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics.
- Content you don't have the right to share, including material that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights.
- Unauthorized personal information about another person (doxxing, stalking, sharing private details without consent).
- Impersonation of another person, family member, or organization.
- Illegal content or activity of any kind under U.S. federal, state, or local law.
- Spam, scams, phishing, or commercial solicitation.
What You Shouldn't Do
You also agree not to:
- Use bots, scrapers, or any automated tool to access ZipClips or collect data from it.
- Reverse-engineer the app, bypass security features, or attempt unauthorized access to our servers or other users' accounts.
- Upload viruses, malware, or code intended to damage the app or other users' devices.
- Interfere with or disrupt the service, or overload our servers.
- Share, post, or distribute content from a private Group outside the app without the consent of everyone depicted.
- Create multiple or fake accounts, or share your account with anyone else.
- Harass the ZipClips team or other users through the app or our support channels.
Content Involving Children
ZipClips is often used to share photos of children among family members. That's part of what the app is for. When you upload a photo or video of a child, you are confirming that you are their parent or legal guardian, or that you have the guardian's permission to share it within your Groups.
Photos and videos of children are never made public and are visible only to members of the specific Group you share them with. We never use images of children to train AI and never sell or share them with third parties.
How We Enforce This Policy
If we become aware that content or behavior violates this policy, we may, depending on severity:
- Remove the content
- Warn the account holder
- Suspend the account temporarily
- Permanently terminate the account
- Report the violation to law enforcement (required for CSAM and credible threats of harm)
We rely on a mix of automated scanning (for CSAM only), user reports, and manual review. Users cannot appeal CSAM-related actions. For other enforcement actions, you may reply to the notification email to request a review.
How to Report Content or Block a User
ZipClips gives you two ways to take action when you see something that doesn't belong here:
- Report content. Press and hold any photo in the app and choose "Report content." Reports go directly to our moderation team. We review every report and respond within 24 hours, removing content that violates this policy and ejecting the responsible account when warranted.
- Block a user. Press and hold a photo and choose "Block this user." Their content disappears from your feed instantly, and the block is sent to our moderation team for review.
- Leave a Group. You can remove yourself from any Group you have joined at any time from that Group's screen.
You can also email us at any time:
For suspected child exploitation, please also report directly to the CyberTipline at CyberTipline.org or call 1-800-843-5678.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves or as new risks emerge. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of ZipClips after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
